Art is a gift. In my view, God places his gift of art in people who have interesting and different perspectives on life. You may or may not have the pleasure of meeting these people, but you may tap into their soul by viewing their art. Art in my view has an incredible amount of power to influence or tip the scales of hope or despair in the heart of a viewer. How wonderful it would be if every image we took into ourselves was the gift of a visual prayer or blessing, a prayer that would give you strength in your everyday life. If when you felt weak all you needed to do was look at a beautiful piece of art and know that the artist made that piece for you alone in that moment.
To know that you mattered to someone who has never met you or knew you existed, but still wanted you to have their special prayer of hope and strength to take with you in the form of an image stored in your memory. My name is Meghan Burnside. I started drawing as a way to communicate my feelings and ideas to others. Art has been my way of touching the world outside of autism. My wish is to share my joy of living through my art and let others into my world.
